AMS 5731 Stainless Steel A286 Round Bar is a solution-treated iron-nickel-chromium alloy (UNS S66286). It delivers high strength, creep resistance and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1300°F (704°C). The alloy also keeps good ductility and non-magnetic properties at cryogenic levels. Its importance comes from its ability to be age-hardened, offering strong creep and stress rupture strength for critical applications. Parag Metals supplies AMS 5731 material in round, flat, square, and hexagonal bars, available in consumable electrode melted and solution-treated conditions.
AMS 5731 provides a blend of heat and corrosion resistance that makes it stand out. It maintains strength and toughness at high heat, which is vital for jet engine and gas turbine parts. The alloy resists oxidation and corrosion in extreme environments, giving reliable service at 1300°F (704°C). It also handles continuous service up to 1500°F (816°C) and short-term exposure to 1800°F (982°C). Beyond high heat it stays non-magnetic and strong at cryogenic temperatures as low as -320°F (-196°C), showing its wide operating range.

This AMS 5731 spec is widely used in aerospace, marine, and high-performance industries. In aerospace, it is chosen for turbine wheels, blades, afterburner parts, and fasteners. In marine use, it supports offshore oil and gas projects where parts must withstand both heat and stress. The alloy also finds use in automotive engines, exhaust systems, and superchargers. In industrial settings, it works well in gas turbines, heat exchangers, and other equipment exposed to heat and corrosion. Even for general hardware, it offers dependable performance in bolts, nuts, and screws that face high temperatures.
