MP35N is an alloy made of nickel, cobalt, chromium, and molybdenum that can handle tough conditions. It has 35% nickel, 35% cobalt, 20% chromium, and 10% molybdenum. Its MP35N composition makes the alloy stronger and more stable, and it also protects it from corrosion in harsh environments like chloride solutions. This is one of the few alloys that has very high strength and is very resistant to stress-corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement. It can also be made even stronger by cold working and aging.
Parag Metals is a trusted MP35N supplier, making this alloy available in bar, wire, strip, and tube for a wide range of industries. MP35N has a tensile strength of 260–300 ksi when it’s fully processed, and its yield strength is almost the same as its tensile strength. Hardness also increases with treatment, often reaching around 40 HRC. Because of this balance, MP35N material is widely used in springs, fasteners, implants, and oilfield tools where failure is not an option.
Table of Content
The alloy has predictable physical properties that make it reliable in extreme service. Its density is 8.43 g/cm³, and it has a melting range between 1315–1440°C. At cryogenic temperatures, Mp35n remains durable and maintains its performance at higher service levels. It can become less hard after being exposed to high heat for a long time, but it is still strong enough to be used in parts that will be under constant stress in corrosive environments.MP35N stays non-magnetic even after being strengthened. This feature is extremely important in medical devices and electronic systems where magnetic interference needs to be avoided. Because it is resistant to corrosion and fatigue, along with having a long service life, the alloy is a reliable choice for important parts in many industries.
Fabrication and joining follow established industry practice but require care because the alloy hardens rapidly when worked on. Forming is usually done in the annealed condition and strength is introduced by cold reduction and aging to meet application needs. Welding is feasible with appropriate filler metals and controlled heat input; many fabricators perform post-weld aging to recover or enhance properties in the weld zone. For machining, sharp tools, steady feeds and good cooling reduce strain hardening and extend tool life. Routine inspections, chemical checks, mechanical tests and corrosion evaluations help ensure delivered product meets the expected specification and service requirements.
MP35N is listed under UNS R30035 and is produced to standards such as ASTM and AMS. It can be utilized in a variety of equipment because it comes in bar, wire, strip, and tube forms.

In its annealed condition, MP35N has good ductility and is easier to form. After cold working and aging, it develops very high strength and hardness. The alloy hardens quickly when worked on, so machining requires sharp tools, controlled speeds, and proper cooling. Heat treatment is also used to increase hardness and achieve the desired balance of properties.
